New branding for Novozymes Delta
Novozymes Delta Limited (formerly Delta Biotechnology Ltd), is the world leader in the development and manufacture of recombinant protein products using Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The Company also licences its yeast based expression system to offer pharmaceutical, healthcare and biotech partners customised solutions to their recombinant protein needs.
Objectives:
In November 2005, Nottingham-based Delta Biotechnology Ltd commissioned College Hill Life Sciences to help develop its marketing communications strategy. Delta had pioneered yeast based protein expression systems for over 20 years and had successfully built and run a cGMP-compliant 8000L fermentation facility that had been commercially producing the world's first and only animal-free recombinant human serum albumin used in the manufacture of approved human therapeutics, Recombumin®, since 1995.
First Phase Method and Results:

Delta Biotechnology's identity was dated and very technically-based. Following a period of consultation, discovery and key message development between November 2005 and March 2006, College Hill Life Sciences proposed a marketing communications strategy that would be based on a new brand identity and re-positioning of Delta Biotechnology and its products and services. The new identity together with an integrated suite of brochures, datasheet and website were launched between May and June 2006.

Second Phase Method and Results:
In July 2006, Delta Biotech announced that it had been acquired by Novozymes, the Copenhagen-based world leader in enzymes and micro-organisms. As part of the integration process, Northbank was commissioned to create a new identity for Novozymes Delta Ltd within the established Novozymes style guidelines. The new design was developed with the client to include a new colour palette and people-centred photography. Novozymes was impressed with Northbank's responsiveness and ability to integrate within their style The new design was rolled out across Novozymes Delta's new website and marketing materials between September and November 2006.
Client Endorsement
Dermot Pearson, Director of Business Development at Novozymes Delta said: "A year ago we knew we had to improve our image, both to develop our direct business and to maximise our opportunities in the M&A area. We're delighted with the strategy and identity that Northbank created and more so with the fact that our new Delta Biotech identity was quite easily evolved into our Novozymes Delta look today."
