Multi-language Patient and Clinician Information and Training Leaflets for AD 923 Clinical Trials

Brief

Sosei is a leading international biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercialises innovative pharmaceutical products. The Company is developing AD923, a sublingual formulation that contains fentanyl for the management of localised breakthrough pain (BTP) in patients with malignancies who are already receiving opioid therapy for their general underlying persistent cancer pain. Northbank was approached to develop training, administration and testing materials to ensure successful dosing, aimed at two target groups: Patients/Carers and Clinicians.

Our Task

  • To simplify and distill the details of the clinical trial protocols into a format that could be clearly understood by patients.
  • To develop leaflets for patients that are both instructional and educational
  • To translate the leaflets from English into European languages
  • To develop "aide-memoires" for clinicians and hospital staff

Method

  • Northbank divided the clinical trial information for the patients into 4 logical consecutive stages
  • Defined complex medical terms using simple terminology
  • Copywrote patient and clinician leafletss
  • Designed and developed flow charts that summarised and streamlined the key steps in each stage of the trial
  • Further designed and developed an instruction leaflet that illustrated the correct use of the AD923 device
  • Managed and co-ordinated the translation and back translation of all the patient leaflets
  • Storyboard creation for supporting video.

Results

  • Patient and Clinician leaflets were produced

Client Endorsement

Mr Bharat Ruparelia, Clinical Project Manager, Sosei: "We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Northbank, they have done an excellent job. We are really pleased with both the patient and clinician leaflets that they developed for us and look forward to working with them on the next project to produce a video for the AD 923 clinical trial patients"
