Promotion and New Appointment in Northbank’s Congleton Office

London, Manchester, Munich – 13 August 2007 Northbank Communications, the leader in life science PR and communications, has announced promotion of Kathryn Robertson, from Senior Account Executive to Junior Account Manager and the appointment of Sarah Wetton as Administrator. Both are based in Northbank’s Congleton office.

Kathryn joined the Northbank team in March 2006. As Junior Account Manager, Kathryn provides account support and assists with technical writing, media relations and marketing projects for clients in the life science, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Her key clients include BAC, BSR 2007, Cobra Biomanufacturing, Consortium for Post-Genome Science, PerkinElmer and Sigma-Aldrich.

Prior to joining Northbank, Kathryn worked as a Research Associate at the University of Edinburgh in the Institute for Cell Biology where she worked on a number of Wellcome Trust funded projects, specialising in biochemical protein studies. In addition to this work she volunteered as a presenter for a number of science outreach programmes and gained experience in media relations, producing press releases for the Institute. Graduating with a BSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Edinburgh and a subsequent MSc in Science Communication from the Australian National University, Kathryn has experience in a variety of science communication areas and approaches communication challenges with versatility and creativity.

Following an initial temporary position in 2006, Sarah has now joined Northbank on a permanent basis as an Administrator. Sarah is responsible for providing support to the Congleton account teams and HR department. Prior to joining Northbank, as an Assistant Manager at a local golf club, Sarah was responsible for the efficient running of the business. She holds a BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Sciences and Sports Management from Sheffield-Hallam University, with a dissertation based on a customer satisfaction survey on health and leisure groups.

Commenting on the news, Sue Charles, CEO, said:

"At Northbank, we are very much focused on appointing high quality staff such as Sarah and recognising and rewarding the progress in knowledge and skills demonstrated by Kathryn"
