Making
a success of ‘Genome to Systems’
In addition
to Northbank’s ongoing involvement in this years HGM conference,
within the field of genomics the Consortium for Post Genome Science
has secured Northbank’s services to ensure it’s 2nd
Conference, Genome
to Systems, makes the step from a successful regional, academic
event into a major annual event attracting participants from around
the world.
The Consortium
is a cross-institutional initiative designed to accelerate developments
in post-genome science and technology and this year’s conference
will take place in Manchester, UK, on 1-3 September 2004 at the
impressive Manchester International Convention Centre, close to
Northbank’s northern office.
Following on
from the successful inaugural conference in 2003, this year’s
event will address many specialist areas of interest, focusing on
post genomic technologies and their application to scientific, healthcare
and ethical issues. Northbank has been commissioned to manage the
event’s organisation and logistics, in particular the new
commercial focus to the event through a Supplier Exhibition and
Company Showcase sessions.
Peter Colley,
Northbank Director, notes, “We are well placed to make a success
of the Conference with a great track record of event planning and
coordination, the sales acumen and design expertise to attract the
required delegates, exhibitors and presenters, as well as a valuable
network of contacts, clients and friends in the disciplines of post
genome science.”
The exhibition
provides the opportunity for up to 80 leading suppliers, focusing
on post-genome technologies and their scientific and commercial
applications, to meet the movers and shakers in the industry and
leading academics
The commercial
aspect of the Conference also includes Showcase sessions, providing
an ideal forum for 24 pioneering companies and institutes to meet
potential customers, partners and investors to promote their research,
technology, IP, products and services.
Professor Andrew
Cossins, Consortium Chairman, commented, “Northbank are helping
us to bring together industry experts, leading researchers and representatives
from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the suppliers
and service providers that support these industries, and in doing
so we are creating an international community that will help accelerate
developments in post-genome science.”
Additionally
Northbank is sponsoring the media relations for the event, including
publicising the event, dealing with media enquiries and running
the press room.
