Arakis
go live with new look website
Arakis,
an emerging pharmaceutical company, decided to develop their
website to reflect their current
position and the Company they envisage growing into. Arakis had
recognised Northbank's expertise for some time and after
an initial consultation, awarded the project to Northbank as
the preferred partner. The new look website was successfully
completed
and launched in early August. See www.arakis.com.
After
facilitating a brainstorming session with stakeholders to determine
Arakis' key
messages, current and future positioning, and how the Company
should be perceived, work began on realigning
and developing the identity and building its value.
A great
deal of time and thought had been put into the design of Arakis' facilities,
providing a light, vibrant and innovative working environment.
The Northbank design team took inspiration
from this, capturing the personality of Arakis by using the office
ambience, colours, shape and light, and incorporated this feel
into the website.
Photography
was used to build upon the website design, helping to establish
a distinctive look and providing a
more personal feel
to the Company. A combination of bespoke photography, including
artistic direction by senior designer, Chris Fisher, and stock
library photography was commissioned, providing a balance between
cost effectiveness and personalised imagery. This photography
was incorporated into the website and used to build a photo-library
that could be used for future marketing materials.
Commenting
on the website, Dr Julian Gilbert, Arakis' Commercial
Director said, "The website comes across very well and
provides us with a powerful tool to communicate our expertise,
product development
and current positioning to potential investors and commercial
partners."
The
need for Arakis to conduct in-house web maintenance was identified
at the start of the project and Northbank built the site with
this in mind. It was important that updates could be made easily
using
popular web packages such as Dreamweaver and that time sensitive
information such as product pipeline diagrams could be updated
with ease.
Following
on from the success of the website, Northbank is now working
on a number of Arakis projects, including exhibition
materials,
PowerPoint design and event strategy for BioPartnering Europe.
