Arakis
looks to Northbank for clinical trials instructions leaflet
High profile
Arakis, prior to being acquired by Sosei, approached Northbank to
design and produce an instruction leaflet as part of a clinical
trials study involving a capsule-based inhaled delivery system.
As with all
instruction leaflets, clear communication of information is imperative
and the regulations and procedures surrounding clinical trials heighten
this. A simple illustration style was decided upon to guide the
subject through the procedure, which also circumvented any unintended
association with a specific gender or ethnic background.
Although the
instructions were not overtly branded and did not mention Arakis
as the sponsor, the leaflet did make subtle use of the corporate
colours and was produced to a bespoke size to fit with the trials
packaging.
The trials
involved multi-regions and therefore required translating into five
languages for Northbank to produce the appropriate versions. In
order to facilitate the multiple versions of the leaflet, Northbank
created a template that could be applied to the different languages
and account for a considerable increase in characters in some of
the dialects used.
Commenting on
the design, Sue Snape, Arakis Project Leader, said “We’re
really pleased with the leaflet; it’s vital that the instructions
are as clear as possible for patients and the design and illustrations
Northbank produced ensure this.”
