Northbank
Communications to support HGM2004
Northbank Communications
has been appointed by the Human Genome Organisation (HUGO) to handle
media relations for its annual international meeting, HGM2004, taking
place in Berlin from the 4th to the 7th April. HGM is an annual
milestone for the international human genetics research community
and the programme for 2004 promises to be as exciting as ever.
As we enter what has been dubbed the “post-genomic”
era, HGM2004 will focus on the future of genome research, tackling
topics ranging from therapeutic genomics to evolution. Leading names
in the field of human genetics will be presenting their most recent
data, attracting an audience of top researchers from around the
world. Many companies and organisations with an interest in genetics
will be exhibiting at the meeting, which will also be an important
opportunity for people involved in genetics research, across industry
and academia, to meet and exchange ideas.
Northbank Communications, as media sponsors of the
meeting, will liaise with the media throughout the event, from inviting
journalists to attend, preparing and issuing press information,
to hosting regular press briefings and running the press room.
Sue Charles, Northbank’s CEO, said “It’s
great to be selected by HUGO to handle media relations for such
a prestigious meeting and it underlines our status as one of the
leading science communications consultancies.”
