| Welcome
to the Northbank newsletter |
| |
Many of you will have received the first in Northbank's
new postcard series - our "August" card celebrates
the discovery of oxygen. We have developed a series of month-based
cards that celebrate scientific discovery and invention.
Through these cards and other marketing materials, you will
see our guiding themes that we follow in everything we do
- Science I Leadership I Passion I Communication. Our core
focus is on science-based industries where entrepreneurship
and innovation underpin wealth creation. We continue to
strive to create a leadership position for ourselves, and
work with companies and organisations who, like you, are
leaders in their fields. We remain passionate about what
we do and about achieving results for our clients - we go
the extra mile to ensure that our work adds value. And everything
we do is about communication, starting with good communication
between our staff and our clients' team. This newsletter
underlines our commitment to keep you, our clients and contacts,
up-to-date.

Northbank
and Lipoxen were not beaten by the terrorists! When Lipoxen
Technologies needed some design and editing work turned around
at short notice, Northbank was only too happy to oblige! Not
even widespread security alerts and the need to evacuate the
office for more than an hour curbed our enthusiasm and Lipoxen
was pleased with the end result. |

Congratulations
to Ashley Lilly who has gained a merit in the Critical Reasoning
Test part of the Chartered Institute of PR’s Advanced
Certificate in PR.
Well done to Lorna Watson for achieving a CIM Professional
Diploma in Marketing with a distinction in Marketing Communications.

It seemed a good idea at the time. A gentle jog around Battersea
Park. Take in the sunshine, its only 5.6km they said. Rallying
a somewhat unsure ‘work hard, play hard’ attitude,
six members of the Northbank Team entered the JP Morgan Chase
Corporate Challenge, raising vital funds for the official charity,
SportsAid. More

Cross
border IR in Europe
Sometimes, in a saturated market or where external
markets may offer riper investor opportunities, companies that
are listed in the US or Europe may wish to attract investors
from selected financial centres outside of their national market.

Northbank
supports clients at BIO 2005

Northbank Communications provided crucial support and consultation
during this process for several clients including Ablynx,
Atugen, Biacore, BioInvent International, Borean Pharma,
Cobra Biomanufacturing, IntegraGen, MNLpharma, Oxford BioMedica,
Plethora Solutions, PowderMed, Santaris Pharma and Symphogen.

Northbank
beats the drum for Trigen
In
April 2005, Trigen, the London-based cardiovascular drug
discovery and development company announced its merger with
Munich-based ProCorde. Following this merger, Northbank
Communications was called in to develop Trigen’s brand
identity and realign its corporate and communications materials
with the new goals and capabilities of the Company. Importantly,
the new look Trigen had to incorporate branding elements
of each company pre-merger and reflect the new entity. The
new-look Trigen was rolled out to key audiences at the International
Society on Thrombosis & Haemostasis (ISTH) conference
held in Sydney in August 2005. More

IntegraGen
identifies a key brain protein involved
in autism
Scientists at IntegraGen, the personalised medicine company,
published the results of a genetic linkage analysis showing
a strong association between the protein PRKCB1 and autism
in the August issue of the journal Molecular Psychiatry.
Northbank worked with IntegraGen to publicise this development
through the media by drafting, distributing and pitching
a press release to science writers.

Arakis
looks to Northbank for clinical trials instructions leaflet
High profile Arakis, prior to being acquired by Sosei, approached
Northbank to design and produce an instruction leaflet as
part of a clinical trials study involving a capsule-based
inhaled delivery system.
As with all instruction leaflets, clear communication of
information is imperative and the regulations and procedures
surrounding clinical trials heighten this. A simple illustration
style was decided upon to guide the subject through the
procedure, which also circumvented any unintended association
with a specific gender or ethnic background. More...
